The Care Village at St Joseph's Hospital has many admirers, BDP photographer David Barbour counts himself among them

I have been photographing BDP projects for about 15 years and this is something I am particularly fond of.

St Joseph’s Bon Secours, just outside Cork city, Ireland. It was a fresh crisp morning, with vivid green grass and blue sky. The light and the surroundings were just magical. The building itself is a non institutional care village for the elderly.

I remember reading in the Sunday Times “the dignity and quality of life offered by St Joseph’s is like a rare and delicate flower” It is a beautiful place and a joy to photograph…

David Barbour has been at BDP for more than 20 years, and is one of the UK's most published architectural photographers. His work has been featured in publications worldwide.
