The 1930s facade of Bentalls department store hides a huge shopping centre opened in 1992. Simon Cash says it has aged well

This amazing shopping centre still looks as fresh as the day it was opened back in the early nineties.

At night the fibre optic lighting integrated into the roof structure is like looking up into a clear night time sky full of stars.
